What is Tab banking facility?

Banks have rolled out new facility for account opening at customer’s doorstep. That is Tab Banking.

How does Tab banking work?

Bank staff will visit customer’s door and will open customer’s bank account instantly by feeding all required details in Tab (Tablet). So it is called tab banking facility.

What will customer has to do to open account by Tab banking?

Just show your aadhaar card to bank staff. By entering aadhaaar number in tab. OTP will be sent in registered number of customer. If mobile numer not registered in UIDAI then customer can avail through e-kyc process. Under the e-KYC facility, e-KYC certificate is generated as an identity document. Fingerprints of the customer are captured and sent to UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) for authentication of identity and address proofThen all adhaar deails will be fetched.

Account opening request will be sent directly to bank and acknowledgement number will be generated. Linked branch will verify account.

Customer will get his account number and instant kit also will be provided (Cheque book and non personalised ATM card) and passbook also can be provided same day.

 

Which banks provide Tab banking facility.

State bank of India has started Tab banking facility recently. If anyone need account instantly. He can call branch and fix schedule to account opening process by tab banking. The account opening details will be loaded on the CBS (core banking solution) platform and the account number will be sent to the customer through SMS/e-mail. This will provide convenience and time saving to the customer for opening accounts with SBI.

Bank of Baroda also has started same process in April 2018. New customer can contact bank to avail this facility. After opening bank account customer will get welcome kit instantly.
