If you are preparing for the CAIIB exam, this post is for you. I understand that CAIIB is little it tough than JAIIB but you can pass easily if you plan accordingly. We know that every clerical staff 2 increment after passing CAIIB and officer gets 1 annual increment. If you follow these tips, I am sure that you can pass CAIIB exam in single attempt.

Yes, you can pass all 3 papers of CAIIB in single attempt also.

Passing Criteria:

I. Minimum marks for pass in the subject is 50 out of 100.

II. Candidates securing at least 45 marks in each subject with an aggregate of 50% marks in all subjects of examination in a single attempt will also be declared as having completed the Examination.

III. Candidates will be allowed to retain credits for the subject they have passed in an attempt till the expiry of the time limit for passing the examination within 2 years.

Here are important Points to pass CAIIB in single attempt.

1. Read PDF in additional reading section of IIBF site.

Make sure you download latest updates and additional reading from IIBF website under Additional reading section. Especially in the 2^nd paper of CAIIB (Bank Financial Management), there are additional PDFs on IIBF site. You must read latest like BASEL III norms.

2. Focus on 2^nd Paper’s Numerical case studies

I understand that you can pass 1^st paper ABM after proper study. But remember friends, 2^nd paper BFM is not so easy. You must solve numerical and case studies also related to forward/spot rate, exchange rate of Bill given in the 1^st module “International Banking”

 

3. Try to pass all 3 papers in a single attempt to take benefit of aggregate marks 150.

You know that 2nd paper of CAIIB is much hard that 2 others. So you can get 45 marks instead of 50. If you get 45 marks in 1st paper (ABM) also but if you get at least 60 marks in 3^rd (Elective) paper. Then you are pass. So try to get the benefit of aggregate marks of total 150 (but at least 45 marks in each). I also did same in CAIIB.

“Sabhi ko aisa lagta hai ki har baar 48 & 49 marks hi kyun aate hai. Pure 50 kyun nahi aate. ” but remember that 45 marks are enough in 2^nd (Bank financial management) paper which is little bit tough that 2 others. In 3rd paper you can get more than 60. Yes trust me, 3rd paper is little bit easy (few of my friends, have scored 75+ in IT elective paper and few others 70+ in the Retail elective. What is your subject of elective out of 11 subjects? My advice is that don’t choose “Retail Banking”. Just because your friends have selected this. Choose Information technology or HR or any other which you have studied in your UG/PG

As you know that there are 11 elective courses, You need to choose anyone for 3^rd paper.

Elective Papers (Candidates to choose any one of their Choice) : Corporate Banking, Human Resources Management, Rural Banking, Information Technology, International Banking, Risk Management, Retail Banking, Central Banking, Co-operative Banking, Treasury Management

I understand this and I know many friends missed by just 1 or 2 marks.

4. Read Latest edition of books.

If you have purchased old edition books and have taken books from your friends. It is not good to read old edition of books. Don’t compromise with CAIIB, Purchase latest edition only. Few things and rules have been changed in latest edition. But if you have old edition of books, your answer might be wrong even if you have studied. So note that you prepare from Latest edition only.

5. Start preparation now.

Manage your time properly. Don’t keep planning like “Kal se taiyari shuru karenge”. Start today itself. Shuruat ka matlab aadhi jeet pakki.

6. Try mock test and last year paper on your mobile or laptop.

There are mock tests available. Few are free like demo and others with nominal charges. Even IIBF also provides mock test facility in 100 rupees. You can try it two times. You will get an idea of the real exam.

 

7. Just read MacMillan books thoroughly.

Prepare atleast for 1 month but remember that you read the latest edition only. Although numerical examples are very less in McMillan books for theory part, McMillan books are best. I have updated Amazon URL of latest books here for you. You can click here to access the latest books of CAIIB.
