PPF interest rate 2020-21

The interest rate on the public provident fund (PPF) scheme and other has been decreased for April 2020. Now it is only 7.10 percent per annum.

In Sukanya account, new interest rate is 7.6 percent only.

The interest rate on the five-year term deposit has been reduced to 6.7 percent from the current rate of 7.7 percent, it said adding that interest rate on these is paid quarterly.

The interest rate for the National Savings Certificate (NSC) for the next quarter is 1.1 percent less. The rates will now stand at 7.1 percent for PPF and 6.8 percent for NSC.

The cut in the interest rate on a 5-year recurring deposit is 1.4 percentage points. The new rate for this saving instrument will be 5.8 percent only.
